Death and life are in the power of the tongue..." – Proverbs 18:21

Have you ever paused to consider how your words shape the atmosphere in your home?

Think about this:

  • When was the last time you told your spouse, “I’m proud of you”?

  • How often do you say, “Thank you,” even for the little things?

  • When conflict arises, do your words tear down or build up?

Your words carry weight. They can either:

  • Heal or hurt

  • Uplift or discourage

  • Draw you closer or drive you apart

Let’s try this: Fill in the blanks.
(Yes, actually pause and do it!)

  1. One thing I appreciate about you is ____________

  2. I love when you ____________

  3. You are so good at ____________

  4. I’m grateful for the way you ____________

Now, text it. Say it. Write it in a note. But speak it. Today.

Here’s a simple challenge:
Speak at least 3 life-giving statements to your spouse today. Not flattery, but truth. Speak their value, their effort, their heart.

Bonus tip: When your spouse messes up, pause and pray before you speak. Ask: “Will this bring life?” If not, rethink it.
